Fake News vs. Real News: Media Literacy as the Foundation of Democracy, a conversation with Walt Mossberg ’69, former personal technology columnist for the Wall Street Journal, and Prof. Maura Farrelly, associate professor and chair of American studies, in honor of the 70^th anniversary of The Justice

•	Standoff: How America Became Ungovernable, a lecture and book event featuring Bill Schneider ’66, author, professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University and CNN’s senior political analyst from 1990 to 2009

•	Class Sessions — Return to the classroom with world-class Brandeis faculty to explore politics, world affairs, trade, the economy, music, cultural studies, Jewish life and more.

Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

•	Women in Science at Brandeis and Beyond, a panel discussion featuring Brandeis trailblazer Eve Marder ’69, Victor and Gwendolyn Beinfield Professor of Neuroscience and winner of the Kavli Prize in Neuroscience for her groundbreaking research on the nervous system

Sunday, June 2, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•	Hands-on Demonstration — Visit the MakerLab: Building a Culture of Innovation the ‘DEIS Way. View 3D printing demonstrations and check out drone simulators, virtual reality technology and more.

Registration: Alumni College is $35 per person and includes lectures and classes, continental breakfast and lunch on Friday, May 31. Welcome coffee and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Shapiro Campus Center. Registration also includes programs on June 1 and 2. All sessions take place on campus.
