Study groups, also known as learning opportunities, are a crucial part of the make up of BNC Clearbrook. They feed directly into the Brandeis value of academic excellence and learning simply for the sake of learning. Study groups provide our members with a space to socialize with friends and meet new people with mutual interests. Our groups, trips, and events are designed to be informative, fun, thought provoking, and often have an aspect of fundraising. Study groups generally meed once to several times a month, while events are one off happenings.
BNC Clearbrook does its best to provide a variety of programming every year to ensure there is something of interest for everyone. In past years, topics and events have included theater, ballet, law, TED Talks, current events, finance, film, medicine, women and leadership, food, luncheons, and the ever popular annual University on Wheels event. The UoW event features a Brandeis professor that travels to the chapter to lecture on a selected topic of interest. Due to our special connection to the University, our study groups can draw on materials compiled by Brandeis professors exclusively for BNC in order to guide discussions.
We can’t wait to spend another year learning along side all of our members.
