SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVITIES

One of the values of the university and part of our mission is to practice social justice. Come participate in these activities to do a good deed, to make new friends and to have fun together.

Days for Girls meetings: September 23, 2018; October 14, 2018; December 9, 2018, January 27, 2019; February 24, 2019; March 24, 2019; and April 28, 2019.
All meetings will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Temple Beth Ami.

Tutoring Opportunities Sponsored by the JCA
As in previous years, volunteers in JCA’s Intergenerational Tutoring Program will meet with a student in pre-K through high school classes to assist the student in a particular subject, such as reading or math.

This year, JCA is offering a Job/Career Readiness Mentoring Program. Volunteers in this new program will work one-on-one with a high school student for four to six one-hour sessions to discuss topics such as resume building, goal planning, job searches and college applications.
You will be required to complete an application and participate in a training session in order to be considered for one of JCA’s programs. Because the programs fill up quickly, you should submit an application to the JCA as soon as possible. If you need an application or if you have any questions about the JCA programs, please contact Barbara E.

We will provide information about our CourtWatch and A Wider Circle programs in future Bulletins or Blasts.
