Event: Book and Author Luncheon – March 13th

BNC Rancho Bernardo invites you to join the chapter at our Book and Author Luncheon at 10:30 A.M. at the Bernardo Heights Country Club. This event will feature three authors and include a luncheon and jewelry vendor.

Judith Fabris is the author of Money…Cool! and Sargent’s LadyMoney…Cool! is an introductory guide to the US stock market and economy. Sargent’s Lady tells two stories; the first of Peter Wells’ search for the subject of an antique painting, and the other of a young, Victorian era artist. Maud Driscoll, Boston debutante and aspiring artist, moves between the social circles of Europe to escape scandal. Her trials with love and the art world are caught up in the chaos of WW1 and WW2, coming to settle in Italy. A story of art, family, and marriage, Sargent’s Lady is a beautiful debut novel.

Bob Hamer is a highly decorated former FBI agent and Marine veteran who has turned his hand. Hamer primarily writes crime thrillers and true-crime books. In The Last Undercover Hamer shares the true story of his last undercover assignment with the FBI infiltrating NAMBLA, and the personal challenges associated with the job. His novels, Targets Down, Enemies Among Us, and Josh Stuart thrillers, feature FBI agents racing to prevent catastrophe.

Kathy Cooperman’s debut novel, Crimes Against a Book Club, features friends Annie and Sarah trying to make ends meet by opening a beauty business. Selling a luxury anti-aging cream to their book club proves surprisingly successful. Everything seems to be operating above board until Annie adds an illegal ingredient, risking bringing the whole business venture crashing down. This witty, smart book is an amusing read and a we’re excited to see more of Cooperman’s work.

Please RSVP by March 8th. The reservation form can be found in the March bulletin.

Event: Ex-Scientologist Lois Reisdorf – October 10

Join us on October 10th to hear the gripping story of Lois Reisdorf and her involvement in the Church of Scientology. The Church, which is now widely known for its unconventional, and ethically questionable, methods of member retainment and finances, started in the 50’s and has spread to become an international entity.

This event is one you won’t want to miss, so be sure to save date. More details will become available soon.

Event: Opening Fashion Show and Luncheon – September 12

Please join us on September 12th at the StoneRidge Country Club for our opening Luncheon which features a fashion show! We can’t wait to reconnect with all of our returning members and get to know our new members. This event will be an excellent opportunity for socialization and for new members to learn more about the chapter and BNC.

In addition to the lunch aspect of the event, we will have a fashion show featuring fashions by Steinmart.

All profits from this event go towards BNC’s Sustaining the Mind Fund.

See the Bulletin for more details and RSVP information.
