Anil’s Ghost

Anil   Lunch and Anil’s Ghost

  Feb. 24 – 12:30 to 2:30

The Carlsbad Cole Library

1250 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad

If you enjoy study groups, you’ll love this special event!

Every year the incoming Brandeis freshmen are asked to read one specially selected book, then meet with the author during their orientation.  This year the book is Booker Prize winner Michael Ondaatje’s Anil’s Ghost.  Ondaatje is also the author of The English Patient, a literary hit which became a popular film. Anil’s Ghost is a mystery – about love, family, identity, an unknown enemy, and a hidden past. The heroine is Anil Tissera, a young woman born in Sri Lanka and educated abroad as a forensic anthropologist, who returns to investigate a series of war-related murders.

We will enjoy lunch catered by Panera and discuss the book and see parts of the DVD of the Brandeis freshman with the author. Let’s see is we’re still as bright as they are!

Please send your check for $22  (made out to BNC) to Joyce Spiegel, 2535 Navarra Drive B-5, Carlsbad, CA 92009
