Ideas for final multimedia project

Since I did a piece about politics and the upcoming election for my first piece, I wanted to do one about what happens AFTER the election is over. I wanted to kind of do a profile on a few of our candidates and then talk about what they are doing now that they lost, as well as what is it is like to work on a losing campaign. There would be a lot of opportunity to use the footage I already have, although I would be doing some follow up interviews and grabbing pictures. I would want to expand more on the feelings after the election, which I obviously did not get before since all of my footage was taken before the election.

Project Proposal

My project will be a feature piece on The Blue Lab. The Blue Lab is a part of a political consulting group that acts as a permanent campaign incubator for area politics. I currently intern at the Blue Lab and think the piece will be interesting because it focuses on how students are running entire campaigns out of an office in Boston. I plan to figure out the actual direction a little more once I do my primary interview with the President of Liberty Square Group (the communications and political consulting group that sort of oversees the Blue Lab). The path of the story is also dependent on how many of our candidates I can interview and get footage of and when the due date for this project is because I’d like to be able to cover election day.
