On the afternoon of May 20, 2012, the Brandeis Department of Economics was proud to confer one hundred and thirty-four bachelor’s degrees.

With smiles on their faces, the graduates marched in to the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance.”

Five students were awarded departmental honors:

Samuel Kapon – High Honors

Sari Ladin – Honors

Geraldine Rothschild – High Honors

Andres Shahidinejad – High Honors

Omril Strul – High Honors

Three students were given department prizes:

The Carol Anne Steinfeld Memorial Prize in Economics was awarded to Geraldine Rothschild for being an outstanding senior in Economics who plans to attend graduate school.

The Morris and Anna Feldberg Prize in Economics was awarded to Samuel Kapon for being an outstanding student concentrating in Economics and planning on graduate studies in the field

The Sidney S. Cohen Award in Economics was given to Andres Shahidinejad for outstanding work in the field of Economics.

Remarks entitled “U.S. Fiscal History and the Current Eurozone Crisis” were given by George Hall, Professor in the Economics Department.
