Jason Bernard, Assistant Director of Academic Technology at the International Business School, held an introductory training session for using Bloomberg terminals on September 21st and added a second session on September 28th due to high student demand.

According to Economics Department UDR Neelanjana Gupta ’13:

” The training turned out to be a helpful introduction for Economics majors looking to pursue research in the future. Bernard began the session by telling students about the history of Bloomberg followed by several advantages of using the tool. The service is used to monitor and analyze real-time financial market data movements and place e-traders. Along with that, it provides users with latest news, price quotes and firm-level historical and current data. Econ majors at Brandeis see Bloomberg as an important skill to acquire before entering the work force.”

Jason is working closely with the Economics UDRs and hopes to offer other skill training sessions to our students in the near future. These opportunities will be advertised on the Economics department listserv and Facebook page.
