Professor Catherine Mann quoted in NY Times

Professor Man was quoted in the New York Times on whether or not the third round of quantitative easing (QE3) has encouraged an expansion of lending. In her view, as stated in the New York Times, the data are mixed: “Lending has increased for cars and commercial property, but not for small business. New mortgage origination for housing remains weak. Meanwhile, the Fed’s outsize presence in the markets for Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities may have changed those markets in ways no one can predict.”
