poll: 5 tech tools instructors want to use?

Posted by wedaman on August 27th, 2010

A recent ReadWriteWeb instructor poll listed the top five technologies instructors want to use as:

  1. iPad/mobile learning devices (including netbooks)
  2. Twitter
  3. Google Apps for Education
  4. student blogs
  5. Sharing and Collaboration Tools (including wikis)

Profhacker asked its readers to comment on this poll, analyzed the comments, and suggests that Chronicle readers’ interests trend away from the “devices” and more towards the communication tools.  The Profhacker adjusted list is more like this:

  1. blogs & blog-related
  2. learning management systems (like Moodle)
  3. wikis
  4. screencasting (background on this)
  5. a variety of less-frequently-mentioned software applications, including Twitter
