Environmental Health & Justice Semester Fall 2013
Think about this ENVS opportunity for next fall!
Environmental Health & Justice Semester is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary, community-engaged learning program in which students become deeply immersed in the law, policy, social impacts and science of current environmental health issues challenging individuals, families and communities today.
Throughout the JBS program, students collaborate directly with grassroots community organizations, government agencies and individuals to tackle environmental health problems facing low-income residents, from inner-city Boston and Waltham to the coal mining country of Appalachia. The group becomes partners in learning from their initial stay on Cape Cod to a week-long trip to the mountains of Harlan, Kentucky, and throughout fieldwork trips, data-gathering visits, workshops with community partners, health study presentations, and even hikes.
This ENVS intensive semester counts for 16 credits, not to mention countless learning experiences. Take a look at all the advantages of a JBS here. For more information on the offerings for next fall’s JBS go here.
