The spring 2011 Soli Sorabjee Lecture in South Asian Studies, on “The Day Our Probation Ended,” was delivered at Brandeis on March 3, 2011 by Prof. Vijay Prashad of Trinity College, Hartford, CT. Prof. Prashad, a popular social critic and scholar, delivered a sweeping analysis of South Asian immigration and reactions to September 11, placing these events in the context of larger questions of American power and race relations.
Building Peace Through Education
This new, 9-minute film showcases the Brandeis University partnership with Al-Quds University in Jerusalem. The project links a Jewish-sponsored university with a Palestinian university for cultural and intellectual exchange. This film focuses on recent activities of the partnership, which included an extended stay by Al-Quds students and faculty at the Brandeis campus.

Interview with Soli Sorabjee
In April 2010, Brandeis University welcomed the distinguished lawyer Soli Sorabjee to campus to help inaugurate a new South Asian studies lecture series in his name. Mr. Sorabjee is the former attorney general of India and a leading commentator on human rights.
