Summer Construction Update

May 25th, 2017 · No Comments

Summer construction projects in and around the Library will limit access to certain areas and collections. Regular updates will be sent to keep everyone on campus informed of service interruptions. Currently:

  • Plaza construction has meant the closing of the main Goldfarb and Farber entrances for the duration of the summer. Visitors may enter through the doors opposite Usdan. This work will also involve loud demolition and drilling work, which will be audible throughout the building, until approximately mid-late June.
  • From now until approximately June 9th, Farber Level 3 will be closed to all visitors, due to HVAC updates. However, the Getz Multimedia Lab will remain open during construction.
  • Visitors may speak with the Information & Borrowing desk for assistance with collections made inaccessible by the construction. Such requests may take longer to process, so your patience is appreciated.
We appreciate your patience as we make these much-needed improvements to the building.  Watch this space for updates!

Levine-Ross Room, Hassenfeld Conference Center, Brandeis University

Speakers:
Madeleine Lopez, Director of the Intercultural Center
Atticus Ranck, Coordinator, Sexuality and Gender Diversity

Description:
Privileges are manifested in different ways, some noticeable while others require a closer look. Come join us as we take stock of our privileges and ways to put them into action. Madeleine Lopez will discuss how her education affords her a level of privilege, which allows her to advocate for students and the undocumented. Atticus Ranck, who has has spent the past few years as an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, will discuss the gender-based privilege of which he is acutely aware.

Join us for a vibrant discussion…and some dessert!
