Bmail has arrived (almost!)

Yesterday (Moday 3/12) Nick Ragusa activated the first 12 accounts for the folks in Netsys. All in all Nick said things went surprisingly well.

We are actively testing and trying to break the system. So far things look good.

We have found several items we need to work on, mostly minor issues and a few bugs.

There are a few outstanding items that did not make this alpha release of Bmail.

  • Cosign authentication
  • forwarding from imap.brandeis.edu (requires users to change their email client config)
  • Branding as Bmail
  • Trusted SSL certificate (right now we are using an internal cert)
  • Global Address book
  • Oracle Calendar import
  • Blackberry Support
  • Many other internal issues

These issues will need to be solved before the general release in June.
