I used to work for SolarCity, one of the companies owned in part by Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX. SpaceX is perhaps the most recognized company in the public sector race for space. While the technological advances made through the NASA space programs have been of tremendous benefit to all of us indirectly, I’m all for the privatization of space exploration. It’s incredibly expensive to put rockets into space and the companies that really benefit financially from these advances should be made to foot the bill. The private sector now sees this as a profitable venture and the US government should stay out, particularly in light of our current financial crisis.
Cheers
