The Summer 2014 CSWEP newsletter is worth reading from front to back. CSWEP stands for the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession. It is the committee in charge of promoting and mentoring women in the field of economics, and its newsletters are generally packed with great career advice for both women and men. This issue is no different.

The lead article in the current issue is an interview with our very own Professor Rachel McCulloch by Professor Kathryn Graddy. Last year, Professor McCulloch won the Carolyn Shaw Bell Award for her work furthering the status of women in the economics profession. The award currently hangs in the Economics Department office. Stop by and take a look.

Also in the newsletter are four articles focused on getting into and finishing a PhD program. If you think a PhD in economics might be in your future, you will want to read each article closely.
