Where: The position is with AbbVie’s Research and Development department in Worcester, MA.

The collaborator will contribute to translational medicine research programs by managing and analyzing genomic data sets. The main responsibility for this position is to provide analysis for a variety of large scale complex data, including Next-Gen Sequencing, microarray, protein profiling, etc.. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to contribute to data management and computational infrastructure support within the group.
Qualifications: The ideal fit for this position will have a PhD or MS in bioinformatics, computational biology or biological sciences with strong quantitative background and 1-2 years of experience in bioinformatics/genomic research.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Coding skills in R and/or an additional programming language such as Perl or Python
- Comfortable doing data analysis in a Linux environment.
- Hands on analysis experiences with Next-Gen sequencing and microarray data
- Be familiar with popular bioinformatics software and R packages such as BWA, Bowtie2, SAMtools, VarScan, GATK, DESeq2, etc..
