Position: Business Analytics Manager, Senior Data Analyst, Data Analyst

This company is looking to hire several data scientists/business analytics professionals into the Market Research & Analytics group within Con Ed’s Energy Efficiency & Demand Management Department. Specifically, the company is planning to hire one manager level and two to three individual contributor “analyst” level positions. This is an exciting career opportunity for experienced data scientists/business analytics professionals interested in the energy industry (ideally with some experience already, but interested and eager to learn is good). More specifically, the positions are ideal for those particularly interested in helping one of the country’s largest and oldest utilities deliver new products and services to customers like energy efficiency, smart thermostats, energy storage, fuel cells, and solar.  The energy and utility industry is undergoing significant transformation led by technology innovation, smart meter data, and customer behavior. Data analytics, and as such these roles, will be at the forefront of informing and driving this industry transformation

Position: Strategic Business Analyst

Opening for a Business Analyst who is smart, a big picture thinker, proactive, and a natural problem solver.  This is better than your average BA position because Interactive Data empowers their Business Analysts to ask thought provoking questions (be “healthy skeptics”) to ensure the best results and expect them to explore opportunities that would add additional value.  In your role, you must be able to parachute into a project and work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver results and artifacts quickly.  You must also be able to determine the root cause of the problem; then derive and document the best outcome for the business via process modeling, functional requirements, and data analysis.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma
  • 5+ years’ of demonstrated work experience as a BA translating business workflows, requirements, rules and/or, data into written specifications
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in system and process improvement life cycles design and implementation in an unstructured environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and Visio)
  • Comfortable operating in a high-performing team and managing multiple project/initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proactive, highly energetic, results oriented, with a “can-do” attitude in meeting challenges/resolving business problems.
  • Team player with the willingness to take direction/constructive criticism from management and has an aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Performs with high level of autonomy in performing day-to-day tasks.

Position: Bioinformatics

The collaborator will contribute to translational medicine research programs by managing and analyzing genomic data sets.   The main responsibility for this position is to provide analysis for a variety of large scale complex data, including Next-Gen Sequencing, microarray, protein profiling, etc.. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to contribute to data management and computational infrastructure support within the group.

Qualifications: The ideal fit for this position will have a PhD or MS in bioinformatics, computational biology or biological sciences with strong quantitative background and 1-2 years of experience in bioinformatics/genomic research.

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Coding skills in R and/or an additional programming language such as Perl or Python
  • Comfortable doing data analysis in a Linux environment.
  • Hands on analysis experiences with Next-Gen sequencing and microarray data
  • Be familiar with popular bioinformatics software and R packages such as BWA, Bowtie2, SAMtools, VarScan, GATK, DESeq2, etc..
  • Candidates with working experience with relational database (MySQL or PostgreSQL) or front end programming (JavaScript/HTML/CSS) is a plus ***

Identity & Access Management Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity for an IAM Account & Access Administrator, will be responsible for administration of various BCBSMA applications security. This role requires experience working with large scale IAM solutions, developing and executing operational processes and aligning tightly with business needs. The primary deliverable for this person is to govern and administer the accounts and access including mainframe applications.

Responsibilities:

  • The Security Administrator will be accountable for initiating the process for creating user access and timely notification of ID’s and passwords enterprise wide.
  • Provide IT Security governance and collaborate with external vendor Security personnel, Help Desk and BCBSMA business area SME.
  • Administrators to provide effective communication and appropriate authorized access.
  • Coordinate and review reporting/tracking on status of access to legacy systems, remote access, and internal LAN based systems.
  • Support requests for remote access.
  • Streamline and ensure removal of all account access for associates and non-associates that have terminated employment or services with BCBSMA. Must also integrate and maintain HR and audit termination requirements.
  • Implement and support day-to-day computer security controls including but not limited to creating access and control, monitoring, security awareness relating to BCBSMA mainframe, Active Directory, desktop computers, and VPN.
  • Consult, Implement, and manage access associated with e-commerce products.
  • Develop and support audit related reporting to business for protected business groups, products & access types.
  • Other relevant job duties as assigned or required by IT/Business to support environment changes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Information Technology is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory and LDAP is highly desired.
  • Previous Identity and Access Management (IAM) experience is preferred.

Position: Several Positions available in Human Genetics and Computational Biomedicine

The advance of human genetics in recent years driven by the large scale human genome-sequencing and genome-wide association in multiple disease areas has brought the research community and pharmaceutical industry an unprecedented opportunity to utilize this information and technology to facilitate innovative drug discovery and development. Pfizer has now reached a key point at which human genetics is sufficiently mature to aid the drug discovery process in several important areas.

Inflammatory and autoimmune diseases and Neuroscience stand out as areas where genetic research has been successful, suggesting that increased emphasis and resource may yield ever more safe and efficacious precision medicines. A combination of genetic epidemiology and functional genomics will facilitate our ability to identify mechanisms, indications, patients and biomarkers, all of which would be guided by an evidence base in humans.

Opportunities also exist to integrate human genetics with other types of data measured in clinical research such as gene expression via RNAseq, protein measurements in peripheral blood, structural and functional brain imaging, and immune cell responses to treatment. This will enable holistic view of biomarker response. Carefully designed and implemented pharmacogenetic studies of drug responses in clinical trials could provide novel mechanistic learnings to support combination therapy or biomarkers for patient stratification.

Pfizer is looking for experts in human genetics with sound knowledge of applying human genetics and genomics as tools for target discovery/validation, biomarker/indication identification, patient stratification through genetic association analyses and functional biology studies.
