Pat Oleszko’s “Fool for Thought” Inside the Kniznick Gallery at Brandeis’ Women’s Studies Research Center is eccentric artist Pat Oleszko’s unique artwork. Opened from November, the curated gallery will be on display until March, the location of the WSRC quite fitting. Oleszko is known to use her bright, colorful, flamboyant art as a vehicle for topics important to her such as politics and gender. #jour109b #patoleszko #freethenipple #burnyourbra #womensrights A photo posted by Isabelle (@isabellieboo) on Feb 7, 2017 at 10:30am PST Titled “Fool for Thought,” my favorite piece from the showing is BETTY BOOB, 2007, made from balloons and fabric. The colors are bright and almost unapologetic, much like Oleszko’s personality and philosophy. I see the art as perhaps a fun, beautiful way to depict an especially stigmatized part of the human body: a part that we should all love and embrace! #jour109b #bouqetofboobs #foryou #galentinesday A photo posted by Isabelle (@isabellieboo) on Feb 7, 2017 at 10:38am PST Walking into the gallery is an experience in itself. The art exudes a sort of addictive happiness that makes the viewer feel a strange happiness, too. Oleszko’s work is playfully innovative. Fool for Thought also follows WSRC curator Susan Metrican’s trend of featuring mostly visual, sculptural pieces. A perusal is highly recommended! #jour109b #art A photo posted by Isabelle (@isabellieboo) on Feb 7, 2017 at 10:49am PST
