My name is Melissa Darling and I am currently majoring in Business and Psychology with a minor in Economics. I am seeking advice on what my next steps should be going forward with my future. I cannot decide if I should apply to the BA/MBA program here at Brandeis and get my masters in one more year, or if I should try entering the work force, specifically a rotational program, to get experience and then go back to school in the future and possibly have my business pay for me. I am looking to hear from alumni who had to make a similar choice, what they did, and if that was the right choice for them.

My dream is to fulfill a marketing/advertising or public relations leadership position within a large, global retailer. Post-graduation I plan on moving to New York City, Washington D.C., or staying in Boston for a full-time position. I am looking for information and advice on how to narrow down my focus to steer my career path and internship search in a more specific direction. I have particular interest in the following finance fields: Asset Valuation, Portfolio Management, Capital Markets, and Corporate Banking, but I’m open to any suggestions and willing to learn about different fields! As an avid spectator of sports and life-time athlete I am excited to pursue a career in the sports and events industries. Last summer I was able to intern with the Brooklyn Nets, and I would love the chance to speak with someone who has some insight in the marketing, finance, or corporate sponsorships areas as well. Advice Wanted: Trying to Beat the Curve in Marketing

I am currently a junior with a dual major in Business and Psychology and a member of the Women’s soccer team. I had the opportunity to work with a growing business-
to-business company this past summer as the marketing intern and would like
to gain insight into what is the next best step into pursuing a marketing career
after I graduate. I am curious as to whether it is best to intern with more than
one company, or to return to the same company? What do the different roles of marketing entail? I would like to speak with alumni to gather as much knowledge from others’ experiences as I can in furthering my career.
