My name is Tove Olaussen Freeman and I am a senior majoring in Health: Science, Society and Policy and minoring in Business and Economics. I am also a varsity athlete and a captain for the Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field. I have experience in researching health literacy in migrant workers in Oslo, Norway. I am currently applying for graduate degree programs in Health Economics and Global Health. I am interested in hearing from alumni that have experiences either internationally or abroad in Health Economics and/or Public Health/Policy. Is it possible to combine my interests in global health with the private sector? Thank you in advance!

My name is Lydia McCaleb and I am a senior at Brandeis majoring in Psychology with minors in Legal Studies and Latin American Studies. I am also a captain of the Brandeis Track & Field team. This past summer I was a forensic social work intern at Lawyers For Children, a non-profit in New York City. I worked closely with adolescents in foster care, acquiring resources and advocating on their behalf. I am interested in law, particularly the areas of public-interest and criminal law. I am hoping to work as a paralegal for a couple of years before pursuing law school. I would like to hear about the experiences of alumni working in these fields and learn about the different career paths that may be available for someone interested in going to law school in the near future. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Greetings to the Brandeis Alumni. My name is Marcelo Brociner and I am a sophomore here at Brandeis. I am an Anthropology major with a minor in Creativity, the Arts, and Social Transformation (CAST). I wanted to ask any Anthropology majors out there (perhaps Sociology as well) what sort of first-hand experience I should seek out while I am still an undergraduate. I am pursuing a career in music after college, but during/after that journey, I plan to work as an anthropologist. I am doing a study tour in Vietnam next semester which is going to be fascinating, but I was curious to know if anyone knew of any specific projects I could undertake. Thank you for taking your time to read/respond to this inquiry. Have a wonderful day!

My name is Brandon Odze and I am a senior considering a gap year before law school. I have a job offer from the political consulting firm I interned with over the summer in Washington D.C., but my contract would end in November after the 2016 election cycle. I would like to go to law school the next fall, August 2017. I am looking to gain insight on law-related or politics-related work for the 7 to 8 months before I enter law school. Thank you.

My name is Kelsey Whitaker and I am a senior double majoring in Biology and Health: Science, Society and Policy. I am also a varsity athlete and captain of the Brandeis cross country and track teams. This past summer I had an internship working at the SLI Brain Injury Wellness Center creating workout routines for patients and tracking data that will be used for future research. I am very interested in the fields of public health and health policy as well as epidemiology. I would like to hear about the work that different alumni are doing in these fields so as to gain a better understanding of career options. Any feedback or information is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

My name is Gabriella Guillette and I graduated this past May with a double major in Women’s and Gender Studies and International and Global Studies. I plan to work a few years before acquiring my master’s degree in public policy. I have work experience with impoverished communities and have interned in an awareness raising capacity for Jane Doe Inc. around sexual assault and domestic violence. I am particularly looking for advice on working with domestic violence and gender based violence. However, I am also eager to hear advice/perspectives/experiences on service work in general especially that which has a holistic and survivor-centric approach. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, My name is Brandon Odze and I am a current junior looking to take two gap years between graduating from Brandeis and going to Law School. I would like to work in public finance, but was wondering if it would look better or make me look more appealing if I worked for a government agency or non-profit. I would eventually like to end up in business law but I also want to make my resume appealing to law schools and show that I used my gap years extremely efficiently. If you have any advice for me, please contact me. Thank you for taking the time to look at my Wisdom Wanted ad.
I’m a current junior double majoring in Business and Economics with a minor in Politics, and a member of both the Women’s Soccer Team and Track & Field teams. I have an interest in working in finance or a data-oriented field such as marketing analytics. I am looking for information and advice on how to narrow down my focus to steer my career path and internship search in a more specific direction. I have particular interest in the following finance fields: Asset Valuation, Portfolio Management, Capital Markets, and Corporate Banking, but I’m open to any suggestions and willing to learn about different fields! I would greatly appreciate any insight or advice you would be willing to give me!
