Archived Ad: HSSP major in search of networking opportunities

This past summer I was a project management intern at a medical advertising agency known as GreyHealth Group in New York City. From this internship, I learned how to create budgets, timelines and further developed my communication skills by coordinating projects through all the different departments in the agency.

At Brandeis University I am the coordinator of Junior Brandeis Achievers (JBA), a Waltham Group after school program at two local elementary schools. Working with the administration of both the elementary schools, we manage the creation and execution of targeted programs for second through fifth-grade students at the schools. The coordinators recruit Brandeis and high school students to participate in JBA, train the volunteers in how to make lesson plans that stay within budget and how to engage with the students.

In addition to JBA, I volunteered in a Health Psychology Lab at Brandeis where I recruited study participants as well as captured and analyzed study results. Finally, I am captain of the women’s ultimate Frisbee team at Brandeis, a team I have been a member of since freshman year.

I’d love to speak to alumni who work in healthcare fields and learn about the different kinds of work that is available. I’d also appreciate advice on how to best network and connect with others in organizations that might be recruiting.
